Week of August 26th

 Hello 1st Grade Families,

Happy Monday. It's a busy week at Quest. I will try to keep my Monday posts consistent with everything you need to know for the week.  

A BIG THANK YOU to those who have donated money for supplies OR brought in school supplies. It really helps set our classroom up for success. We would LOVE for more donations (either cash or actual supplies) so we can have what we need to be successful in 1st grade. If you're unsure how to make the cash donation or what items you can purchase please go to the "Classroom Supplies" tab here on the blog.

*** For some clarification on Take Home Folders...Homework is not required to be handed in. The spelling words and reading passages are merely a tool for you to use at home. I will send home a reading chart at the beginning or each month (I already sent home September's Reading Chart - "Apples") to use as an incentive to get your student to read. They can return it at the end of the month for a sticker.***

August 30th: No School/Teacher Professional Development

September 2nd: No School/Labor Day

We are working hard practicing procedures. We have spent some time getting to know each other. We've been talking a lot about kindness, growth mindset and following directions.

We are reviewing Kindergarten Math concepts and practicing math skills using Manipulatives.

We are learning how to navigate the iPad and Chromebooks.

First Day of School Success

 

Dear Families,

We had a great first day. You have some amazing students and I'm so lucky to be their teacher. I hope they're as excited to come back tomorrow as I am. 

I FIGURED OUT MY GOOGLE FORM PROBLEM. YAY!!! If you still need to fill out some forms I've linked them below. They are also linked correctly on the disclosure as well.

***If you can donate supplies (We need tissue, Clorox Wipes, paper towels, hand sanitizer, pencils) or make a cash donation instead please do. We have lots of things to buy to be successful at school.***

Remember *** Students NEED HEADPHONES- not ear buds. Please send them in*** 

Please remember to send the Transportation Form and ALL ABOUT ME page with your child as soon as you can!

For the next couple of weeks, we will be coming out the doors that are circled in black on the photo below at the end of the day.

It's About to Begin

 Hello 1st Grade Families,

I'm so excited for this year to start. I can't wait to meet you all. I've included some important reminders below:

1. Back-to-School Night: I hope to see you all at Back-to-School night, Monday August 19th from 6-8pm. There will be 4 presentations. The first presentation will start at 6:00, then 6:30, 7:00 and 7:30. Please try and come at these specific times. All teachers will be following this schedule. The presentation should only last about 10-15 minutes then you can talk to me afterwards (time permitting) if you have any questions. 

2. First Day of School: August 21st is the first day of school. 

3. Short week: August 21st - 23rd will be a short day all week. Please plan accordingly.

4. Picture Day: August 28th

5. No School: August 30th
