A Few Important Items

 Hello 1st Grade Families,

I want to inform you of a few important things.....

1.  Year book sales are going on right now. If you would like to purchase one please click on the link below and use the ID number for Elementary.

2. We have end of year testing in sometime in May.  Our students have made so much growth this year. I am so proud of them. But I am noticing many students still need help reading sight words and struggle with simple addition and subtraction facts. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE read with them at home AND PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE work on math fluency with them. Simple flash cards from the dollar store or even a Math Fact App on a tablet. Practice makes progress and I want more than anything for our kiddos to be confident in moving on to 2nd grade.

Free Dress Down Day 

Monday March 31-Friday April 4 - Spring Break - No School

We have been talking all week about about sounds we hear. Student brainstormed and shared their ideas about sounds we hear inside, outside, in the daytime and at night time. We did lots of reading and writing and had some fun discussions about this topic. We talked about musical instruments and the sounds they make. Today, we made our very own musical instruments, Maracas. Students had a fun time decorating and choosing beans, rice or noodles to make their very own and unique musical instrument. I apologize for the noise that came home but they were so proud. I've attached a video below for your enjoyment.
